Whitney “Strix” Beltrán is Project Narrative Director at Hidden Path Entertainment, currently developing a AAA Dungeons & Dragons video game. She is an award winning Mexican-American narrative designer and writer with a Master’s degree in Mythological Studies. She’s previously written peer reviewed articles on myth, psychology, and play, and has done research with Carnegie Mellon’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute. She is a longtime advocate of diversity and inclusion in the games industry; running panels, creating videos, organizing, fundraising, and privately consulting with game companies to help make gaming as both an industry and consumer culture more welcoming now. Strix runs a private high-intervention mentoring program for marginalized devs entering the games industry with her husband Ajit George. In addition, she directly mentors women of color on an individual basis.

Strix is a prolific creator, often shipping additional projects on top of her full time AAA work. She is always looking for new ways to tell dynamic, inclusive stories through the medium of games.
